Texas Longhorn
Texas longhorns speak for themselves. They don’t need explanation. But, they’re just cows. They don’t know they are an icon from the past that humans love to look at and imagine the old Texas.
They can grow huge horns with the proper nutrition. No matter how much we love them, they will all be eaten in hamburgers eventually. But the longhorn has one extra bonus going for it that no other cow does, when it dies its horns will grace some barn or living room or Cadillac hood for years to come. They might hold cowboy hats or ropes. You just don’t throw away long horns. Not to mention their beautiful hides.
I guess the Texas longhorn is more than just a cow. They are useful in our minds, as well as all the things they give our bodies. Thanks longhorn, enjoy your buffalo grass in the warm Texas springtime.
